Al-Aqsa’

Al-Aqsa’

Al-Aqsa’

The Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, the city from where our Prophet ascended to the skies during part of the night of Al-Isra’ (The Night Journey) and Al-Mi’raj (The Ascension ), and where Prophet Muhammad led all the other Prophets in prayer.
The Aqsa Mosque is where Lady Mariam spent lot of time worshiping God, in the Mihrab ( المِحْراب ), which is a room one reaches by a ladder, that Prophet Zacharya built it for her so she could worship God in seclusion.
The Aqsa Mosque was originally built by Prophet Adam. It is a blessed place and is one of the three mosques that have extra merit in praying in them ( after al Haram Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina): The reward of prayer is multiplied to 100,000 times in al-Masjid-ul-Haram, to 1000 times in the Prophet’s mosque, and to 500 times in al-Aqsa.
