Description
“They planted, and we ate. We plant, and others will eat.”
While walking through a village, a young man meets people along the way. Scenes of village life unfold around him, from busy hands at work to the laughter of children at play. But it is an old man planting a walnut tree who leaves him with a lasting thought: the seeds we plant today may bear fruit for generations to come.
The great religion of Islam calls for wanting good for people and for building sound communities. Active involvement in volunteer projects strengthens the wellbeing of both society and individuals, while helping raise confident and happy children. The basis for this story is a known tale of an encounter between an old man and a ruler. Green Fig retells it in a setting of daily village life, with dynamic conversations and vibrant illustrations.
